Going Global is the British Council’s conference for leaders of international education to debate the future of further and higher education.
Due to the ongoing situation with Covid-19, the British Council made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Going Global conference which was due to take place on 29 – 30 June 2020 in London. Read our full Covid-19 update here.
In the absence of a conference this year, we shared a limited amount of digital content throughout June and July which explored the theme 'Global learners, global innovation'. You can take a look back at our content, including posters, blog posts and recordings of our virtual discussions and debates on our Past events page.
We understand how important and impactful a face-to-face conference is for higher education leaders for connecting with their peers and sharing the latest ideas and innovations in the sector. However we want to continue the conversation around international higher education, especially at such a crucial time for the sector.
With the ongoing uncertainty around the pandemic, and with the associated issues facing all conferences and events around the globe, we are exploring a variety of options for Going Global in 2021.
