The British Council creates international opportunities for the people of the UK and other countries and builds trust between them worldwide.
The British Council Lebanon office has been part of the Lebanese society since 1946 and draws on the UK’s substantial expertise in three sectors - English and Education, Arts and Society - to build our programmes.
Through these programmes we are able to support the development of Lebanon, build trust and mutual understanding and provide opportunities for young people at three levels:
- national policy makers and opinion formers through policy dialogue about the issues that matter to young people
- key influencers by building capacity of teachers, creative leaders and community activists
- large numbers of aspiring young people through our English teaching and programmes with schools, NGOs and community groups.
Increasingly we multiply our impact through partnerships with Lebanese and UK organisations; We actively seek partners who share our values and objectives, which include providing opportunities for learning, access to information and ideas from the UK and creating networks of like-minded people.
The British Council creates opportunities for tens of thousands of young people annually and have over 7,000 staff working for us in 191 offices in 110 countries and territories.
