Aiming at equipping emerging visual artists with the necessary capacity to move forward with their careers and ensure sustainability, British Council Lebanon has launched CATAPULT.visual’arts, a programme composed of an artistic and professional capacity-building workshop, a yearlong programme of solo exhibitions, and a residency opportunity in Scotland. The programme responds to the needs and ambitions of the artists, aligned with their practices, career positions and long-term goals, offering planning, business support, networking events and critique of their work while taking into consideration the current context of Lebanon and the important opportunity of exchange with the UK.
Selection and workshops
The programme was launched with an open call, inviting applications from artists and artist collectives based in Lebanon working with different mediums including painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, and installation.
