The British Council is inviting registered NGOs and civil society organisations in Lebanon to apply for a grant to deliver an adapted Youth Connect programme for young women.

About the programme
The programme will support 30 young women, including emerging feminist activists and women working in alternative media and digital spaces.
- Participants will develop skills and networks around:
- Feminist leadership and gender rights
- Peacebuilding and dialogue
- Digital activism
- Online misogyny and gendered misinformation
- Digital safety and protection
- Civic participation and advocacy
The programme will support participants to move from learning and research to dialogue and collective action in their communities.
What will the selected organisation do?
The selected organisation will adapt and deliver the established Youth Connect pathway over six months. A new methodology does not need to be developed.
The journey will include:
Recruitment → Learning → Community research → Dialogue → Collective action → Reflection & Knowledge sharing
The organisation will be responsible for participant recruitment and support, facilitation, mentoring, community engagement, Collective Action Projects, monitoring and documentation.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an organisation with:
- Strong experience in gender equality, youth engagement and digital activism
- Experience in areas such as feminist leadership, peacebuilding, digital harms, misinformation, digital safety or civic participation
- Strong networks for reaching young women across Lebanon
- Capacity to implement the programme nationally
- Ability to mobilise quickly following contract signature
- Appropriate financial, safeguarding, data protection and grant management systems
- Previous British Council or Youth Connect experience is an advantage, but not a requirement.
What could participants work on?
Participants may develop projects around issues such as:
- Digital safety for young women
- Countering misogynistic narratives and misinformation
- Women's participation in the information ecosystem
- Advocacy and policy engagement
- Partnerships between young women, civil society and media
- Sharing learning with other women and girls
Final projects will be developed by participants based on their research and dialogue.
Funding & timeline
USD 50,000 | 6 months | 1 organisation
Implementation must be completed by March 2027.
Selection and implementation are subject to funding approval.
